Recently the students at Aspire Centre, in Liverpool, enjoyed a two-day residential in Anglesey with Outdoor Adventures.
The students experienced coastal traverse, which involves climbing along the cliffs using ropes, body boarding in the surf at Porth Dafarch and on the second day, gorge walking in Afon Ddu. Students walked through the river, through waterfalls and over rock features which have been created by the river.
The two days were designed to build confidence and push the students out of their comfort zones, challenging them in a safe and enjoyable environment. For some students it was their first experience of the wonderful area of North Wales and its amazing coastline. This form of outdoor education forms an integral part of the Great Schools Trust character and leadership curriculum offering students a unique opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, learn new skills and build resilience and confidence which will equip them to become successful citizens in the future.
